Polygon Angles Calculation Worksheet

The line segments of the polygon are called as sides or edges. The formula used to calculate the sum of interior angles, interior angles of the polygon & Exterior angle of the polygon is

Sum of interior angles = (m - 2) x 180
Let m be the number of sides,
Interior angles of the polygon = [(m - 2) x 180] / m
Exterior angle of the polygon = 360 / m
where,
m - No.of Side for the polygon

Example:
Calculate the sum of interior angles, interior angles of the polygon & Exterior angle of the polygon whose given Number of sides are 5.

Solution:
substitute the given data in the above formula,
Sum of interior angles = (m - 2) x 180
= (5 - 2) x 180
= 540

Interior angles of the polygon = [(m - 2) x 180] / m
= [(5 - 2) x 180] / 5
= 540 / 5
= 108

Exterior angle of the polygon = 360 / m
= 360 / 5
= 72

When you try such calculations on your own, this polygon angle calculator can be used to verify your results of calculations.
